Raising Reptiles provides interactive live-animal programs for schools, preschools, daycare centers, libraries, Scout troops, camps, churches, festivals, fairs, community events, corporate events, senior communities, and other organizations. We are based in Chesterfield Township and travel throughout Macomb County and the greater Metro Detroit area.
What happens during a Raising Reptiles live animal presentation?
Our programs combine entertainment, education, and up-close encounters with live reptiles and other animals. Participants learn about animal behavior, habitats, adaptations, biology, and responsible care while meeting animals they may have never experienced in person.
Are your reptile demonstrations hands-on?
Whenever appropriate, yes. Interaction is a big part of what makes Raising Reptiles different. Our presenter introduces each animal, shares interesting facts, answers questions, and provides supervised opportunities for participants to interact with selected animals.
What animals do you bring?
A typical Raising Reptiles demonstration may include a tortoise, large snake, small snake, bearded dragon, iguana, alligator, and occasionally other animals such as our giant pixie frog. The exact lineup can vary depending on the program and animal availability.
Are the programs educational, or are they mainly entertainment?
Both. We believe people learn best when they're fascinated by what they're learning about. Our programs explore reptiles, animal adaptations, habitats, behavior, biology, responsible animal care, and other topics through encounters with the animals themselves. Presentations can also be adapted to different ages and types of audiences.
Can you bring a reptile show directly to our school, library, camp, or event?
Yes. Raising Reptiles is a mobile animal program, so we can bring the experience to you. Presentations can take place in schools, libraries, classrooms, gyms, community centers, churches, businesses, festival spaces, and other suitable venues.
Are Raising Reptiles presentations just for kids?
Not at all. While school programs, Scout events, camps, and children's activities are popular, reptiles have a funny way of getting adults interested too. We also provide interactive animal experiences for corporate events, community programs, festivals, family events, and mixed-age audiences.
How long does a live animal demonstration last and what does it cost?
